Chapter 7 - The Midnight Dock Sting

(The Prelude to the Boardroom Strike)

While I prepared to enter the Vance Corporate Tower, Tobias and Frank Gallagher executed Phase One of our counter-offensive at Vanguard Shipyards.

Disguised in high-visibility port authority inspection gear, Frank led a four-man team of loyal veteran machinists into the subterranean control vault beneath Drydock 4.

The private security mercenaries hired by Garrett were patrolling the perimeter of the Panamanian freighter, unaware that the true masters of the shipyard were moving through the shadows beneath their feet.

Frank reached the master hydraulic manifold, inserting an encrypted hardware bridge designed by Tobias directly into the primary programmable logic controller.

"Bridge connected, Tobias," Frank whispered through his encrypted radio.

"Telemetry confirmed, Frank," Tobias replied from the mobile command van. "Drydock 4 sluice gates are now locked under our sovereign executive protocol. The Black Star is officially trapped."

Simultaneously, Captain Sean O’Malley of the United States Coast Guard Maritime Interdiction Unit received an anonymous, encrypted intelligence dossier containing the complete shipping manifests, bills of lading, and satellite tracking coordinates for the illegal weapons cache aboard The Black Star.

Three high-speed Coast Guard tactical cutters silently took up positions outside the Baltimore harbor mouth, their 25mm deck cannons loaded, waiting for the signal to strike.

The noose was tied.

Now, all that remained was for Garrett Vance to step onto the gallows.
